What is Clinical Oncology?

Clinical oncology is a specialisation where the specialist utilizes a broad spectrum of treatments to treat a cancer patient. A clinical oncologist may use various modalities such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and sometimes in combination to manage cancer and improve patient outcomes. Clinical oncologists focus on the overall management of cancer patients using a range of modalities to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate treatment for their cancer.
